Keeping It Real Counseling was established in 2020 during the Covid-19 shutdown, a challenging time for people from all walks of life. The practice was founded with the goal of providing a safe space for individuals to openly share their struggles, fears, pain, disappointments, hopes, goals, and desires without fear of judgment.
Often, we are not honest with ourselves about who we are and what we want, which can negatively impact our quality of life and our ability to stay true to ourselves. There are many reasons for this lack of honesty, such as feeling unsafe or unsupported, trying to live up to others’ expectations, fear, doubts, past trauma, and mental, spiritual, and emotional challenges.
Keeping It Real Counseling offers a safe space where you can explore and discover your authentic self by removing the blocks that prevent you from doing so. This is achieved through active listening, support, unconditional positive regard, challenging, and assistance in developing and practicing healthy coping mechanisms, communication, healing, goal-setting, and self-care.
